A
Gentle, Safe Form of Healing
Acupuncture is a recognized and respected alternative for treating acute and
chronic conditions, and has been practiced for more than 3000 years. Its
effectiveness has been documented by the World Health Organization.
Acupuncture is complementary to, and can be used in conjunction with, Western
medicine. We believe a holistic approach to health encourages balance in all
aspects of a person's life.
By placing whisper thin pins at specific points in the body, acupuncture restores
health. Because it focuses on correcting the underlying cause of ill health,
not just the symptoms, acupuncture can bring long-lasting results.
Patients will feel at ease in our comfortable facility and will find our friendly,
caring staff well trained and experienced.

Acupuncture
- How it Works
Oriental
Medical experts say that pain and disease are caused by either
an imbalance or a blockage of the energy circulating in the body.
Acupuncture restores the proper flow of energy, returning the
body to good health.
In an acupuncture treatment, thin sterile needles are inserted at specific
points on the body. These points are carefully selected by the Licensed Acupuncturist
according to the patient's problem. Each treatment is tailored to the individual's
needs. The acupuncture treatment corrects the imbalances, removes the blockages
of energy and restores health.
Emphasis is placed on understanding and treating the underlying cause of each
individual's imbalance. This holistic approach treats not only physical complaints,
but also emotional, environmental & lifestyle conditions.
In the history of mankind, more people have used acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
than all other types of medicines combined. Today it helps people throughout
this country and around the world.
What
Should I Expect During Treatment?
Treatments
take place in private rooms, usually with the patient lying
down. You can either wear loose clothing or use the treatment
gowns we provide.
To help you relax and obtain the most benefit from treatment, we offer
a variety
of music selections and subdued lighting. Our new clinic also allows us
the ability to have our patients bring in their own iPods and
play their own
personal music selections. We hope this will enhance our patients' relaxation
and enjoyment of the treatments.

Will The
Treatment Hurt?
Acupuncture pins are tiny, about the thickness of a human hair. We use only
new, pre-sterilized disposable pins. Each whisper thin pin is used only once,
and then discarded. You may not feel anything when a pin is inserted, or
you
may have
a sensation
of warmth, heaviness, tingling or achiness. In some cases, patients feel
minor discomfort, which passes immediately. Treatment sessions usually last
between
50-60 minutes and are very relaxing.

Who Will
Provide Treatment?
The acupuncturists are licensed by the Oregon State Board of Medical Examiners
and hold Master's degrees in Oriental Medicine. For information on the staff
